Gaiti, the Supply-chain solutions provider company entered into a Joint venture with Japanese company Kintetsu World Express on 13 February 2012. As per the term of the agreement both the companies will merge up their express distribution supply-chain business.
Gaiti and Kintetsu World Express would hold 70% and 30% stake respectively in the new joint venture. Under the joint venture Gati's entire express distribution and supply-chain (EDSC) business will transfer into the joint venture through a business transfer agreement. The entire process will take another two months to get materialized.
The Gati-Kintetsu joint venture is meant to combine Gati's expertise in third-party logistics and express distribution in the country with Kintetsu’s freight forwarding expertise and global customer base.
Kintetsu has a remarkable global presence with the name of some top companies in its fold. The new joint venture will provide both the partners with an opportunity to explore each other’s territory.
