India sacked Michael Nobbs, the Coach of India's Men's Hockey Team

Sports Authority of India on 10 July 2013 sacked India's Men's Hockey Coach, Michael Nobbs following poor performance of India. Earlier, after finishing at the sixth spot, in the FIH World League Round 3 in Rotterdam in June 2013, India seized its chances to book its berth, in World Cup 2013.

Nobbs contract was set to expire after 2016 Olympics in Brazil, but the Hockey India’s decision to end his services followed the poor performance of team India, since London Olympics, where India finished at the last spot.

The decision to sack the Australian after a review meets to assess the overall performance of the team, since the tenure of Nobbs started as a Coach for India.

Roelant Oltmans – the High Performance Manager was given the charge of the team during the National Camp in Bangalore till Nobbs replacement was named.
