The International Kho Kho Federation and the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) jointly declared on October 2 that India will host the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup in 2025.
Twenty-four nations representing six continents will compete in the event, which will include sixteen men's and sixteen women's teams. The goal of the game is to celebrate the spirit of Kho Kho and promote international unity.

Kho-Kho Originated in?
With its origins in India, Kho Kho will showcase its rich cultural legacy and passion for competition throughout this World Cup. With 54 countries participating worldwide in this sport, this shows the popularity the sport gained over the years. The sport began in the dirt and has now moved to the mat to meet international standards.
India’s Plan for Kho-Kho World Cup 2025
In an effort to promote the sport before the World Cup, the KKFI intends to visit 200 prestigious schools in ten different locations. In addition, the federation will organize a school student membership drive with the goal of signing at least 50 lakh players before the World Cup. The Kho Kho Federation of India's President, Sudhanshu Mittal, expressed his excitement for the forthcoming tournament and claimed that it will unite people from different countries.
In the meantime, the Kho Kho World Cup seeks to take this local Indian sport to a global level. The KKFI hopes that holding this landmark tournament will guarantee Kho Kho's spot in the Olympic Games by 2032. If the federation is successful in its endeavor, it would be a huge achievement for the sport.
