International conference called by UK on 29 March 2011 and held at London urged Muammar Qadhafi to resign as the ruler of Libya. The London conference in its resolution called for an immediate ceasefire and to stop all attacks on civilians and providing full humanitarian access to needy people. The London conference made a declaration that the NATO-led military operations would continue in Libya until the above mentioned requirements were met.
Moreover, the London conference decided to establish a Libya Contact Group to coordinate international response to the Libyan crisis. The conference was participated by nearly 40 nations and major international blocs comprising NATO, the United Nations, the Arab League and the European Union. The London conference was called to settle the major problems regarding the Libyan crisis and the differences between the nations conducting an ongoing military operation against Libya.
