A film producers’ body in Karnataka, Kannada Film Producers' Association (KFPA) on 15 September 2011 lifted its ban on actress Nikita Thukral. The ban was lifted four days after Nikita was barred from acting for three years over an alleged affair with a co-star. The Kannada Film Producers' Association (KFPA) lifted the ban after it came in for criticism from the film industry.
The actress, originally from Punjab, has been acting in the Kannada film industry, better known as Sandalwood for more than nine years.
The ban had been put in place after Thukral's co-star Darshan was arrested on charges of domestic violence against his wife Vijaylakshmi, who accused Darshan and Nikita of having an affair. Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi in a written complaint blamed her for the discord in her married life.
