The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on 1 March 2017 appointed Portugal’s Luis Norton de Matos as the Head Coach of the India U-17 team for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The World Cup is scheduled to be held in October 2017.
De Matos replaces Nicolai Adam, who was resigned under controversial circumstances after a revolt from the players.
About Luis Norton de Matos
• Born on 14 December 1953, Luis Norton de Matos is a former Portuguese footballer.
• He played as a forward.
• He amassed Primeira Liga totals of 210 games and 36 goals over the course of nine seasons.
• In 1989, he became a manager and worked with several clubs.
