Miss Nevada Nia Sanchez on 8 June 2014 was crowned as Miss USA 2014. She is the 63rd winner of the Miss USA beauty contest. The ceremony was held at the Baton Rouge Civic Center in Louisiana.
Erin Brady, of South Glastonbury, Connecticut, the 2013 winner, gave up her crown to Sanchez. Sanchez will go on to represent the U.S. at the Miss Universe competition later in 2014.
Nia Sanchez defeated 50 contestants from all the States and Districts of Columbia of the USA who participated in the competition.
First runner-up of the Miss USA was Miss North Dakota Audra Mari.
Besides Mari, the next four runners-up were: Miss Georgia Tiana Griggs, Miss Louisiana Brittany Guidry, Miss Florida Brittany Oldehoff and Miss Iowa Carlyn Bradarich. All the titles included USA after the state.
Nia Sanchez aged 24 hails from Las Vegas and holds a four-degree black belt in the Korean martial art of taekwondo.
