The US and Japan have agreed to advance their multilateral security and defence cooperation with countries like India, South Korea and Australia in view of North Korea's dangerous provocative behaviour. The threat posed by North Korea was discussed by US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono, Defence Secretary James Mattis and his Japanese counterpart Itsunori Onodera.
Himachal Pradesh: Manimahesh Yatra is under in Chamba district
In Himachal Pradesh, the historical annual Manimahesh Yatra is under way these days in Chamba district. Pilgrims in large number are visiting Manimahesh to worship God Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The Chamba district administration has made elaborate arrangements.
The famous sacred Manimahesh Lake is situated at nearly 14000 feet height in Bharmour area. Thousands of pilgrims from different parts of the country are taking a dip in the Manimahesh Lake before performing traditional Shiva Puja.
Veteran photographer S Paul dies at 88
Veteran photographer S Paul died in New Delhi at the age of 88. He died at a private hospital after undergoing a surgery a few days ago.
Paul was a self-taught photographer who discovered his passion for the art as a teenager. He joined The Indian Express in the 1960s and retired from the newspaper in 1989.
