NIC to be Set Up

The Indian government in August 2010 decided to set up the National Innovation Council (NIC) to be headed by Sam Pitroda who currently is the PM’s advisor on public information infrastructure and innovations.

The Indian government in August 2010 decided to set up the National Innovation Council (NIC) to be headed by Sam Pitroda who currently is the PM’s advisor on public information infrastructure and innovations. The NIC shoulders the responsibility to prepare a road map for the ‘Decade of Innovation—2010-2020’. The council is expected to evolve an Indian model of innovation that would focus on inclusive growth and create an appropriate eco¬system conducive to fostering inclusive innovation.
