The Queen's Baton entered India from Pakistan on 25 June 2010 through the Attari-Wagah border, marking the 100-day countdown to the Commonwealth Games in Delhi. The baton was handed over by Pakistan Olympic Association president Syed Arif Hassan to Indian Commonwealth Games organising committee (OC) chairman Suresh Kalmadi. The baton along with a battery of 80 people will go through 28 States and 7 Union Territories and finally reach Delhi on 30 September 2010. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is the venue for Games' opening ceremony on 3 Oct 2010.
