The results of the Lok Sabha elections are already out. This election was full of some interesting and noteworthy facts and figures. Priyanka contested from the Chikkodi seat of Karnataka on the ticket of Indian National Congress. She won the election with more than 1,20,000 votes against sitting MP Annasaheb Jolle. With this victory, Priyanka became the first tribal woman to win an election on a General Category Parliament seat.
2. (c) Shankar Lalwani
Incumbent MP Shankar Lalwani of the BJP won the Indore Lok Sabha seat in Madhya Pradesh by 10.08 lakh votes. This margin victory is the highest in the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. Remarkably, NOTA got the second-place ranking with more than two lakh.
3. (a) Ravindra Dattaram Waikar
Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena candidate Ravindra Dattaram Waikar won the Mumbai North West Lok Sabha seat with a margin of only 48 votes. He defeated Shiv Sena UBT candidate Amol Gajanan Kirtikar. Waiker received a total vote of 4,52,644, while Kirtikar received 4,52,596 votes in the constituency.
4. (c) 293 seats
In the results of Lok Sabha Election NDA managed to secure its victory at 293 seats, out of which BJP won 240 seats becoming the largest part of the alliance. BJP was followed by TDP with 16 seats and JDU with 12 seats.
5. (d) 234 seats
INDI Alliance won a total of 234 seats in this Lok Sabha Election. Congress registered its victory on 99 Lok Sabha seats which is a significant improvement from its last performance in the 2019 Lok Sabha Election in which it was only able to win 52 seats. Congress was followed by SP who won 37 Lok Sabha seats.

For a party to appoint the leader of opposition for a House, it must win at least 10% of the total seats. There are currently 543 seats in the Lok Sabha, while 243 in the Rajya Sabha. The party with the second highest number of seats and not a part of the government can nominate its leader as the leader of opposition. The minimum number of seats required for a party to be eligible to nominate opposition leader is 55 in case of Lok Sabha.
7. (c) Shambhavi Choudhary
Shambhavi Choudhary is one of the youngest candidates to have won the 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024. She won this election from the Samastipur constituency with a significant margin of 1 lakh 88 thousand of votes. She defeated INC candidate Sunny Hazari, son of JD(U) minister Maheshwar Hazari. Pushpendra Saroj and Priya Saroj from the Samajwadi Party (SP), and Sanjana Jatav from Indian National Congress (INC) are the other three candidates who managed to clinch victory in the 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024 at an age of 25 years.
8. (a) TR Balu
DMK candidate TR Balu won Sriperumpudur constituency of Tamil Nadu state consecutively for the third time at the age of 82 years. With this he became the oldest candidates to be elected in this Lok Sabha Election.
9. (b) Indore
Over two lakh votes were cast for 'NOTA' in the Madhya Pradesh seat of Indore during the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Notably, on the final day of the nomination process, Indore-based Congress candidate Akshay Kanti Bam withdrew his candidacy and joined BJP. With 2,18,674 votes, this is a new record for the most that NOTA has ever received. Shankar Lalwani of the BJP won this seat with the largest margin in the Lok Sabha Election.
10. (c) 272 seats
A party or an alliance needs to touch the magical number of 272 seats in order to be eligible for forming a government. A party must win more than 50 percent of the seats in the Lok Sabha to form the government. Lok Sabha consists of 543 seats, and 50 percent of the seats is 272.
