Chhattisgarh deploys anti Naxal women's commando unit
Chhattisgarh Police deployed an anti Naxal women's commando unit for the first time. The unit is inducted in the District Reserve Guard (DRG), the frontline of anti-Naxal force. The unit has been given 3 months advanced in-house training in jungle warfare tactics. The team comprises even the surrendered Naxals.

Pope Francis issued a historic document declaring that those who suspect sexual abuse in the Catholic Church are obliged to report it immediately to the church authorities. The law will come into effect on June 1, 2019. However, the law will not apply to secrets revealed by people to priests in the Confessional.

Singapore’s first ever case of Monkeypox Virus was reported recently. As per the authorities, the virus is thought to have been brought by a Nigerian man who arrived in Singapore in late April 2019. The Monkeypox Virus is a rare virus disease which usually occurs in West and Central Africa and is similar to the human smallpox.
SC delays Ayodhya dispute hearing to August 15
The hearing of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case was postponed by the Supreme Court till August 15, 2019. In the last hearing on March 8, 2019, the apex court had referred the case to the mediation panel. The panel was formed after it was observed that there is lack of consensus between the parties in the matter.
RIL acquires toy retailer Hamleys
British toy retailer Hamleys was acquired by the Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) in all cash deal on May 9, 2019 for 67.96 million pounds. With this, Mukesh Ambani led Reliance will get hold of complete shares of Hamleys Global Holdings Limited (HGHL). Hamley was owned by C Banner International, a Chinese fashion conglomerate, since 2015.
