Grand View Research predicts that the global AI market will grow strongly, with an annual growth rate of 36.6% from 2024 to 2030, showing AI’s increasing impact across different fields.
Preparing for AI Impact
The IMF points out that advanced economies are likely to see both the advantages and drawbacks of AI sooner than developing countries. This is mainly because their job markets focus more on roles that require cognitive skills.
Therefore, advanced economies need to focus on updating regulations, helping workers shift to new jobs, and supporting those who may be negatively affected.
India’s Position in AI Preparedness Index
India is among the top countries in AI usage, with 45% of people surveyed actively using ChatGPT. The country also has a lively AI startup scene, home to 338 startups focused on AI. In terms of readiness for AI, India ranks 72nd out of 174 countries with a preparedness score of 0.49.

With a score of 0.80, Singapore is ranked first, demonstrating superior workforce adaptability and AI capabilities. Countries in Northwestern Europe, including Denmark, the Netherlands, and Finland, are also at the forefront because of their early national AI programs.
