The BCCI has recommended former India captain Rahul Dravid for the prestigious Dronacharya award and has once again nominated Virat Kohli for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna honour.

Macron said that though the 2015 agreement may not address all and important concerns, it should not be abandoned without having something substantial instead.

The Union Law Ministry has cleared Indu Malhotra’s appointment to the Supreme Court. With the decision, Malhotra will be the first woman lawyer to be directly appointed from the Bar as a Judge in the Apex Court. She is expected to be sworn into the new position on April 27, 2018.

Diu Smart City became the first city in India to run on 100% renewable energy during daytime. Diu had been importing 73% of its power from Gujarat until last year. It has now adopted a two-pronged approach whereby a 9 MW solar park spread over 50 hectares rocky barren land has been developed besides installing solar panels on the roof tops on 79 government buildings thereby generating 1.3 MW annually.

The coastal security exercise ‘Sagar Kavach’ was held along Kerala on April 24, 2018 to strengthen and assess the loopholes in the coastal security mechanism. The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) will be tying up with the United States and Finland to develop new pollution-forecast system to anticipate particulate matter (PM) levels at least two days in advance and at greater resolution.
