Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) kept its spot as the top-ranked Indian company on the 2024 Fortune Global 500 list. This year, RIL moved up from 86th to 88th place.
The number of Indian companies on the list increased this year, with nine companies included in the Fortune 500 Companies. It is for the first time that the Indian private bank HDFC made it to the list.
How is Fortune 500 Companies List Decided?
The Fortune Global 500 list ranks companies based on their total revenues for the fiscal year ending on or before March 31, 2024.
The 2024 list was released by Fortune, a global media company, on August 5, 2024. Walmart, an American company, held the top spot for the 11th year in a row.
