Nomadland won the Best Motion Picture – Drama award and the Best Director award went to its director Chloé Zhao, making her the second woman ever to win the award.

“The Crown” won the award for Best Television Series-Drama at Golden Globe Awards 2021. Emma Corrin from the Crown also bagged the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Drama” for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the Drama Series, while Josh O’Connor won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series — Drama for his portrayal of Prince Charles.

3. (b) Sansad
Rajya Sabha TV and Lok Sabha TV have been merged and will now be known as Sansad TV. Retired IAS officer Ravi Capoor has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the new Channel. Sansad TV will telecast the live proceedings of both the houses of the Parliament on two different channels during the simultaneous sitting of the Houses.

Indian Air Force (IAF) Chief RKS Bhadauria gifted a legacy Alouette III helicopter to Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of 1971 War of Liberation. Bangladesh Air Force chief also gave India a legacy F-86 Sabre aircraft as a return gift.

5. (c) IIT Bombay

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry in collaboration with IIT Bombay has decided to form a Centre of Excellence in gaming and other related areas. The Centre will promote games created in India that promote Indian values, heritage and cultural ethos. 

6. (a) Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved Penal Law (Madhya Pradesh Amendment) Bill, 2021 to give life imprisonment to food adulterators. This was informed by Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on February 26, 2021.

The Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana Dushyant Chautala announced on March 2, 2021, that the state governor Satyadev Narayan Arya has given his assent to the bill that will provide 75% reservation in the private sector jobs with a gross salary of up to Rs 50,000 per month to the locals.

8. (d) Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has sanctioned Rs 101 crore for providing scholarships to 50,000 Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students. The sanctioned scholarship amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of beneficiary students. A total of 1.5 lakh students will be benefited from the programme.

Indian Boxer Mary Kom has been appointed as the chairperson of the International Boxing Association's (AIBA) champions and veterans committee.

10. (b) Temba Bavuma

South Africa has named Dean Elgar as their new Test captain and Temba Bavuma will lead the side in ODIs and T20Is. Temba Bavuma has become the first black African captain to lead limited-overs sides.

11. (a) Italy

Italy has blocked a shipment of 250,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine that was bound for Australia. This comes amid AstraZeneca's failure to deliver the promised doses to the European Union. 

12. (c) Virat Kohli

Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the first cricketer to hit 100 million followers on photo and video sharing social networking platform Instagram on March 1, 2021. With this, the cricketer joined the 100 million club, which includes names of some of the esteemed global celebrities including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Beyonce, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Ariana Grande.
