India was ranked at the 94th position out of 107 countries in the recent Global Hunger Index 2020. India is categorised under serious hunger category this time. India was ranked 102 in 2019 out of 117 nations.

2.(a) 10 percent
The centre on October 19, 2020 approved 10 percent increase in the election campaign expenditure for all future elections.

3.(d) Gujarat
Gujarat government has decided to set up the world’s biggest zinc smelter project in Dosawada in Tapi district of Gujarat.

4.(d) Himachal Pradesh
The first seedling of Heeng(Ferula Asafoetida) was planted in Kwaring village of Lahaul valley in Himachal Pradesh on October 15, 2020 to mark the initiation of its cultivation in India.

5.(c) Jammu and Kashmir
The Union Cabinet has approved the adoption of the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989. The decision has paved the way for local body elections in the Union territory.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath launched the 'Mission Shakti' programme on October 17, 2020 to ensure the safety of women in the state. The Mission will be implemented for six months till the 'Basant Navratri' in April 2021.

The United Arab Emirates has become the first Arab nation to reach a visa-exemption agreement with Israel. The citizens of UAE will now be able to stay in Israel for up to 90 days on a single visit.

Delhi Capitals (DC) batsman Shikhar Dhawan on October 20, 2020, became the first cricketer in the history of the Indian Premier League to score back-to-back centuries.

9.(b) Nokia
Nokia has been selected as a partner by NASA to build the first-ever cellular network on the Moon, helping pave the way towards a sustainable human presence on the lunar surface. 

10.(d) Bennu 
In a first, NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft successfully touched on Bennu asteroid's surface to collect dust and pebbles on October 20, 2020. The collected particles will reach Earth by 2023.
