Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Satya Narayan Pradhan has been appointed as the Director-General of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on a deputation basis till his superannuation on August 31, 2024, or until further orders. Pradhan is a 1988-batch IPS officer from the Jharkhand cadre.

The Ministry of Defence announced on November 9, 2021, that Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar will take charge as the next Chief of the Indian Navy after the incumbent, Admiral Karambir Singh, retires on November 30. Vice Admiral Kumar has been serving as the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command.
3. (b) Shinzo Abe
Shinzo Abe, former Japanese Prime Minister was honoured with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award for the year 2021 for his major achievements in the field of Public Affairs on November 8, 2021. The Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award of India after the Bharat Ratna.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate India's first world-class railway station at Habibganj in Bhopal on November 15, 2021. Habibganj railway station will have all facilities that are available at international airports. It has been built by a private company named Bansal Group under a public-private partnership.

Srinagar joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network 2021 on November 8, 2021 under the Crafts and Folk Arts category. This is a major recognition of the arts and crafts of Jammu & Kashmir.

Nykaa founder and CEO Falguni Nayar became India’s 7th woman billionaire and the wealthiest self-made billionaire on November 10, 2021. The 58-year-old had founded Nykaa in 2012 when she was 50-years-old. She owns more than half of Nykaa through two family trusts and other promoter entities. Nayar’s stake in Nykaa is valued at $7 billion.

The second and last lunar eclipse in 2021 will take place on November 19, 2021 which will be visible from extreme northeastern states such as Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The lunar eclipse will be a partial yet the longest lunar eclipse of the 21st century. The first lunar eclipse of 2021 took place on May 26.

The United States has become the 101st member country of the International Solar Alliance. US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry formally signed the ISA framework agreement on November 10, 2021 during the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.
9. (c) November 15
The Union Cabinet chaired by PM Narendra Modi has approved the declaration of November 15 as Janjatiya Gaurav Divas to commemorate the brave tribal freedom fighters as part of the year-long celebrations of 75 years of India’s Independence. The date marks the birth anniversary date of Birsa Munda who is revered as God by tribal communities across India.

The ruling Communist Party of China approved a rare resolution on November 11, 2021, which uplifted the country’s President Xi Jinping’s status in its history. The latest move can be seen as consolidating Xi’s authority and the likelihood of securing an unprecedented third leadership term in 2022.
11. (a) Tripura
Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), which is an ally of the ruling BJP government in Tripura will stage a demonstration in Delhi on November 14, 2021 in demand for a separate state- Tipraland. Few other like-minded parties including the opposition, Tipra Motha are expected to join the demonstration.
12. (d) Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma has been named as the new captain of the Indian T20I side, while KL Rahul has been named as Vice-Captain for India's T20 series against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma succeeds Virat Kohli, who stepped down as the skipper in the shortest format of the game after India bowed out of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021.
