Zimbabwe for the first time in 31 years defeated Australia in the one-day match played at the Harare Sports Club.

Zimbabwe on 31 August 2014 defeated Australia for the first time in 31 years in the one-day match played at the Harare Sports Club. This was the first win for Zimbabwe since 1983 World Cup of Cricket in Trent Bridge.

It defeated Australia by 3 wickets in the fourth match of the tri-nation series that also features South Africa.


in the match, Australia batted first and posted 209 runs for 9 in 50 over. In reply, the Zimbabwe overhauled the target with 2 overs to spare and 3 wickets in hand.

Man of the match was given to Zimbabwean captain Elton Chigumbura who scored 52 not out and helped the team to win the match.
