Abul Fazal was one of the Navratnas of Emperor Akbar as well as younger brother of Faizi.
The major literary works of Abul Fazal are as following:
1) Akbarnama: It is the official history of Akbar’s time in three volumes. It includes the history of Akbar’s forefathers from Timur to Humayun and Akbar. The third volume of the book is known as Ain-i-Akabari, which gives the administrative details of Akbar’s time.
2) Ruqaat: It is the collection of letters to the princes of Akbar.
3) Insha-i-Abu’l Fazl: It is the collection of letters written by Akbar to his contemporary rulers and nobles.
Other Literary works
There was one more Akbarnama written by Sahikh Illahdad Faizi Sirhindi. This work is based on Tabaqat-i-Akbari written by Nizamuddin Ahmad who was Mir Bakshi of Akbar.
What is Ibadat Khana?
The Ibadat Khana was founded in 1574 where debates on doctrinal and philosophical enquiries were held among different religious sects. Akbar took a deep interest in those debates and discussions. Ibadat Khana, now recognized as the Diwan-i-Khas was open for Sunni Muslims in the beginning but later on was opened to all religions such as Hindus, Christians, Jains and Sufis.
