India signs pact with UAE on trans-continental trade corridor. Here's everything you need to know

Recently, India signed an agreement with the United Arab Emirates on a trade corridor. The aim is to link Europe with India via some parts of the Middle East through rail and sea. This plan has been backed by the European Union and the United States.

At the time of the visit of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United Arab Emirates, the announcement of the ambitious plan was made through a statement by the Indian foreign ministry. Some details about the agreement were made public.

The ministry statement expressed that the agreement would build on the pre-set cooperation and understanding on the issue. As per the ministry, this would strengthen India and the United Arab Emirates cooperation, leading to better regional connectivity.

The deal involved India and the Middle east to work jointly on a special economic project. This happens amid the war in Gaza. The consequences of the war did not prove to be favorable for the United States as its plans to bring Israel and its other Arab neighbors got messed up. It was Saudi Arabia that chose to cease those plans.

When asked, the United Arab Emirates chose to remain mute immediately regarding the agreement.

However, they showed their disapproval against Israel for the attack on Gaza. They also wished the war to end.

This agreement between the United Arab Emirates and India showcases the fact that both the nations wish to work together. This, however, can affect the plans of China to connect nations via trade routes.

Additional, the United Arab Emirates and India also agreed to invest in the each other's nations. They have shook hands to work jointly on aspects like technology, electricity, and trade.
