List of Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh: The post of deputy chief minister is not constitutional. In the state, it is equivalent to the rank of a cabinet minister and enjoys the perks and pay that a cabinet minister is entitled to. There are no special financial powers that are enjoyed by the deputy CM. He holds the same financial powers as other cabinet ministers. It is also said that for his own portfolio, the Deputy Chief Minister has to take the approval of the chief minister for any expenditure over and above the allocated budget.
