This report shines a light on financial contributions exceeding ₹20,000 made to national political parties in India. The data is based on information submitted by the parties themselves to the Election Commission of India (EC). 

The ADR mentions: “This report, prepared by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), focuses on donations above Rs 20,000, received by the National political parties during the financial year 2022-23, as per details submitted by the parties to the Election Commission of India (ECI). The National parties include Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M) and National People’s Party (NPEP).”

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP):

The Bharatiya Janata Party, India's ruling party, stands out as a major recipient of donations in the ADR report for 2022-2023. Known for its widespread popularity and massive outreach, the BJP has secured significant financial support from various sources, including corporates, individuals, and other entities. The ADR mentions: “The donations declared by BJP are more than 5 times the aggregate.”

Indian National Congress (INC):

As one of the oldest political parties in India, the Indian National Congress continues to be a prominent player in the political arena. The ADR report highlights the financial contributions received by the Congress party during the 2022-2023 period, offering an insight into the sources of their funding. 

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP):
