OpenAI Deep Research: Know All About ChatGPT Agent; How it Use, Access and Capabilities

A couple of weeks ago, OpenAI launched an awesome feature inside of ChatGPT called Deep Research Mode, and it allows for multi-step web research to assist its AI and users. So, basically, this new function is an interesting step in how AI helps facilitate research and allows ChatGPT to become much more useful than before.

What is Deep Research Mode?

Deep Research Mode is powered by OpenAI's latest reasoning model, o3, which is specifically optimized for web browsing and data analysis. For now, the output is text-based; however, OpenAI plans to include embedded images, data visualizations, and other analytical outputs in future updates.

Limitations and Challenges

Deep Research Mode is a giant leap in AI capabilities, but it is not without its challenges. OpenAI admits that the AI can still hallucinate, meaning it may produce false or fabricated information. The system may also fail to distinguish between authoritative sources and unreliable information. These limitations raise important questions about the reliability of the detailed reports generated by the AI.
