Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd.
Inception
Rajasthan Government represented the Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. under the Companies Act, 1956 on July 19, 2000. Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam is playing major role in giving uppermost priority to the power production for diverse and swift advancement of the state.
Objective
Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. has been trusted with the job of expansion of power projects under state segment, in Rajasthan along with maneuver & repairs of the state owned power stations. The power generation units of Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. have attained an idiosyncratic status in the nation for their resourceful and profitable power production.
The total number of villages and towns that were electrified at that time did not surpass 42 and the mounted generation capacity was only 13.27 Mega Watts. Nevertheless, with the configuration of Rajasthan State Electricity Board on July 1, 1957, power sector in the state of Rajasthan received precedence and power projects embarked on to burgeon all over Rajasthan.
