Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will launch a dedicated programme for MBA in Islamic Banking & Finance soon. According to the latest update, the inaugural ceremony for the MBA in Islamic Banking & Finance Programme was held last week by the Department of Business Administration (DBA), Faculty of Management Studies and Research (FMSR), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). The unique MBA programme has been launched as a two year full-time programme that aims to train students in management of Islamic Banking and Financing system.
Programme to Cover Excluded Sections of Society
According to the media release, AMU’s MBA in Islamic Banking and Finance programme will be an answer to the exclusion of a large number of people who are left out of banking system due to religious reasons. The programme will address this problem and develop an alternative system that is in line and acceptable as per religious norms. At the inaugural event for the programme, AMU’s FMSR Dean said that there are several challenges in the implementation of the idea of Islamic Banking. The University intends to address these issues and solve to include a large portion of people who are yet excluded from the banking infrastructure.
Students to Interact with Scholars and Practitioners of Islamic Banking
Mr. M. H. Khatkhatay was the chief guest at the inaugural event of MBA in Islamic Banking & Finance programme at AMU. In his address, he expressed his positive outlook towards the programme and how it has the potential to transform lives of people who are yet excluded from the Banking process. In his address, he also highlighted the gap that exists between theory and practice of Islamic Banking & Finance. He said that as part of the programme, students will get an opportunity to meet and interact with renowned scholars and practitioners of Islamic Banking from India and across the world to help them better understand challenges that surround it and also identify possible solutions for them.
