AP SSC Board Exam 2020: Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to introduce some major changes in the examination format of the AP SSC Board Exams from the coming year. As per the update, BSEAP or the AP Board will revamp the examination format for Class 10 students. Under the new format, the Board is planning to remove the separate objective type question paper (BIT paper) and also stop internal assessment from Class 10 AP SSLC Exam 2019.
Key Changes
The key changes made to the examination pattern include the following:
- Removal of Separate Objective Type Question Paper
- No Internal Assessment for SSLC Students
- Increase total exam duration by 15 minutes from 2:30 to 2:45 minutes
- Change in Type and Marks of Questions
Updated Exam Pattern
As per the updated examination pattern, AP Board has extended the exam duration by 15 minutes i.e. students who were earlier provided 2:30 minutes for SSLC Exam papers will not be given 2:45 minutes to answer the questions asked in exam. Other key change is introduction of type questions i.e. essay-type questions, short answer questions and very short answer questions as well as brief answer questions. The detailed exam pattern with number of questions and their respective marks is provided below:
Question Type | Number of Questions | Marks per Question | Total Marks |
Essay-type Questions | 4 | 5 | 20 |
Short-Answer Questions | 8 | 2 | 16 |
Very Short-Answer Questions | 8 | 1 | 8 |
Brief Answer Questions | 12 | 1/1 | 6 |
Total | 32 |

Why change in Exam Pattern?
The decision to remove objective type paper from the examination pattern for SSLC Exam has been taken following the end malpractices in the Board examination. Now, instead of having a separate objective type paper for class 10 Board Exams, AP Board will introduce short question and answers in the main paper itself. A book-let with 18 pages including the answer sheet will be provided to the students at the begening of the examination itself. Similarly, the internal assessment has been removed from the SSLC Exam as it was introduced only to help corporate educational institutions.
