CBSE Art Integrated Curriculum Official notification
The curriculum will be mandatory for the students studying in classes 1 to 10 and every student will be required to take a minimum of one project integrating new art forms which can include Visual Art or Performing Art. However, it must be defined under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme.
The teachers and art teachers are required to plan and discuss the project in advance at the beginning of the academic session itself in order to guide the students correctly. The project must focus on research on new topics that have not yet been taken up in classrooms. Suggestions have also been made to include projects which are eco friendly in nature and are not an extra burden on the parents and children.
The Central Board has also decided to introduce the project as a part of the teaching and learning experience based on competency and joyfulness. Guidelines have been introduced by the board for the same. The introduction of the curriculum is an attempt by the board to introduce Art integrated, sports integrated learning, storytelling to promote creativity, critical thinking, and self-direction in students.
