CLAT 2025 First Merit List: The CLAT First Merit List 2025 was released today by the Consortium of NLUs. Candidates can visit the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in, to view the NLU-wise CLAT 2025 initial merit list.The CLAT Counseling Rounds will only be open to applicants who have finished their CLAT 2025 Counseling Registration by May 21, 2025, at the latest.

By May 30, 2025, at the latest, candidates might upgrade or accept the assigned seat. In order to be eligible for an improved seat in the subsequent stage of the CLAT 2025 counseling process, candidates can also choose to FLOAT their assigned seat, although they will still need to pay the price.

After the Release of the First CLAT 2025 Merit List, What Comes Next for Candidates?

The CLAT 2025 merit list selected candidates must select amongst the exit, float, and freeze choices. Let's examine each of the three choices in more detail.

• Option to freeze: Candidates who have been given the first preference NLU seat or who are happy with their assigned seat must select the frozen option. Such applicants have until May 30 at 1 PM to pay the Rs 20,000 confirmation fee. 
• Float option: Candidates must select the float option if they are unhappy with their assigned seat or if they have not received their initial NLU preference and would like to upgrade to a different NLU in subsequent counseling rounds. Such applicants have until May 30 at 1 PM to pay the Rs 20,000 confirmation fee.
• Exit Option: Candidates must select the exit option if they would like to stop the counseling process and do not want to continue. These applicants are exempt from paying the confirmation fee.
