Major changes have been introduced in the CS Curriculum by the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. The changes constitute discontinuing the CS Foundation programmes. According to an official notification released on the website, the CS Foundation programme of the CS Course will be discontinued. Replacing the CS Foundation course will be the CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET) which is a mandatory qualifying test for the students of all the categories for registration to the Executive Programme.
Earlier while proposing the new curriculum in September the ICSI had stated that in order to make sure that the students possess the requisite level of aptitude and skills to pursue the CS programme and become successful professionals to meet the expectations of the stakeholders, the CSEET will be introduced in place of the foundation programme for the admission to the Executive programme of the Company Secretary course.
Candidates who have qualified the class 12 examination can also appear for the CSEET programme. The candidates who have qualified the ICAI and ICMAI final course will be exempted from qualifying the CSEET.
