Education Ministry and MyGov to organise Essay Competition as part of Independence Day celebration

The Union Ministry of Education and MyGov will be conducting an essay writing competition for the school students as part of the Independence Day Celebrations. The competition will be conducted under the theme Atma Nirbhar Bharat-Swatantra Bharat. 

The essay writing competition will be conducted in the online mode for the students from class 9 to 12. Participants can send in their essays on the official website. The last date to submit the online essays is August 14, 2020. 

The online essay competition will be administered by the Central institution of Education, National Council of Education, and Training and the winners of the competition will be awarded at the national level. 

According to media reports, in an official statement released, it has been mentioned that the selections of the essays will be taken on two levels. The first States or Union Territories will finalize the essays following which 10 essays will be selected from each of the states from which the final selection at the national level will be selected by a team of experts decided by the NCERT.

Independence Day Competition Notification

30 essays will be selected in each of the different categories which are Secondary stage (class 9 and 10) and Higher Secondary stage (Class 11 and 12).
