Himachal Pradesh Schools, Colleges Closed

HP Schools, Colleges Closed: With the COVID-19 cases rapidly rising in the hill-state, the Himachal Pradesh Government has ordered closure of all schools, colleges and other educational institutions in the state. As per the official government order, all educational institutions in HP will remain closed until 26th January, barring a few exceptions. As part of the exemptions list, the state government has permitted opening of Medical Colleges and Nursing Colleges and Training institutes, as they do not fall under the purview of the new restrictions announced on Saturday. The decision was taken after reviewing the current COVID-19 situation and sharp rise in case numbers.

Official Govt Order Released

To confirm the development and avoid any confusion among students, parents and teachers about school and college closures; the state government has issued an official order for the same. The order reads "All educational institutions (Government, Semi government or Private) which include Schools/Colleges/Universities/Academic Institutions/Engineering Polytechnic Colleges /ITs/ Coaching Centers will remain closed up to 26.01.2022 in the state of Himachal Pradesh.” Furthermore, the order also adds that all residential schools in the state will also remain closed for the said period.

Online Classes to Resume for Schools, Colleges

With schools, and colleges closed down for next fortnight, the state government has ordered administrators to switch back to the online mode of learning to avoid any academic loss. With schools and colleges switching back to online learning mode now many students will again have to adjust to the virtual classroom set-up until the situation normalizes. On the other hand, Nursing and Medical Colleges, which have been allowed to continue with physical or offline classes, have been directed to take all necessary precautions and strictly follow all guidelines issued by the government.
