IGNOU conducts radio broadcasts for students during COVID-19 Lockdown

The Indira Gandhi National Open University has introduced Gyan Vani Radio for the educational purposes of the students during the Coronavirus Lockdown. In order to make sure that the students do not face any kind of obstacle in their education, Gyan Vani Radio will impart education to the students through the IGNOU Communication Centre. 

The Gyan Vani and Gyandhara broadcasting which is run through the web due to the COVID-19 lockdown broadcasts from 8 AM to 8 PM every day. The Gyan Vani FM Radio was introduced in 001 as part of a network of educational FM Radio Channels which operate from the different cities in the country while the Gyandhara is an internet audio counselling service offered by the university. The Gyandhara broadcast is available on the website - ignouonline.ac.in 

With the help of the broadcast, the students of the open university can listen to the programmes and engage themselves through chats and ask questions and along with suggestions. To put forth the questions students are required to use the toll-free numbers 1800112347, 01129533103, 29533581. 

Online Services for IGNOU Students

In the Gyan Vani, broadcast teachers give lectures via phone-ins from 11 AM to 1 PM while the students interact directly with the teachers by asking questions during the broadcast. 

According to Gyan Vani Station Manager Manoj Kumar Singh, a special awareness programme on COVID-19 is conducted from 4 PM to 5 PM and the listeners can tune in and ask questions to experts during the broadcast. The special awareness programme on COVId-19 will be conducted until April 14, 2020. 

Gyadarshan is also broadcasted from the communication centre located at IGNOU Campus which is available 24 hours a day.
