IIT Delhi Placement 2019: Students get 1000+ Job Offers

IIT Delhi Placements 2019: IIT Delhi set a new record for campus placements this year. Students from the premier technology institute have managed to get over 900+ job offers during the ongoing campus placement season. Taking the pre-placement offers that were made to the students prior to the start of the placement season, the overall job offers available to students crosses 1000 mark. With this, IIT Delhi has managed to break its placement record of last 10 years and set a new benchmark for itself.

Along with the record job placement offers, this year, IIT Delhi has also witness a 15% rise in the number of recruiters visiting the campus for the placement season. In this regard, IIT Delhi has issued a statement which says “With over 1,000 job offers logged in (including pre-placement offers), the campus has witnessed hiring numbers this year that have crossed previous 10-year benchmarks… Many more companies are scheduled to visit in the remaining part of Phase II (of placement season), which is on till May.”

This year, students from traditional engineering domains i.e. electrical, chemical, civil and mechanical engineering bagged highest number of offers i.e. 32%. Students from IT stream stood second in the number of offers being extended with 20% placement offers being made to them. Other fields which attracted placement offers included analytics, management, finance, consulting, research and teaching.

Giving more information about the IIT Delhi Placement 2019, the institute has also informed that 43 students have received overseas offers from different countries like Japan, Europe, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea,and US. Of these, 33 students have decided to explore these opportunities. The institute also notified that as many as 160 pre-placement offers were made the students of the institute of which nearly 90 were accepted by the students.

With the vibrant entrepreneurial culture at IIT Delhi “A few students opted for the deferred placement option, which is available to students interested in pursuing their start-up dreams,” the institute said.

IIT-Delhi organises its interview processes in two phases. Even as Phase I started on December 1, Phase II commenced in January and will be held till May.
