The Directorate of School Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has changed the summer zone school schedule for Jammu divisions for a period of five months due to the continued tensions following the Pahalgam incident.
The timings were revised by the Cabinet ministers who visited various states to ensure the well-being of students and residents of Jammu Kashmir following the terror attack. In addition, the government of Jammu and Kashmir banned weekend picnics at schools and colleges following a bus accident that left two students dead and twenty-one injured.
Therefore, For all the students till Class 12 the classes will be held between 8AM TO 2PM from 1st May to 30th September, as per the orders, all government and private recognised schools.
“It is hereby ordered that all the Government as well as Private (recognized) Schools up to Higher Secondary Level falling in Summer Zones of Jammu Division shall observe school timing as 8:00 A.M to 2:00 P.M w.e.f 1st May 2025 to 30st September 2025,” the official order read.
The ministers have also asked the state governments of Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh to provide the people of Jammu and Kashmir a sense of security.
