Maharashtra Opens New Global Job Opportunities to Youth: CM Fadnavis’s Scheme

Maharashtra Global Jobs 2026: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that the state government is working to provide global employment opportunities to the youth by integrating education with skill development, training and employment. He emphasised that obtaining a degree alone may not be sufficient in a rapidly changing job market, particularly with the emergence of technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and quantum computing.

Fadnavis was speaking at the online inauguration of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Maharojgar Melava organised across the Konkan and Nashik divisions. The employment initiative has been organised by the Maharashtra Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Maharashtra Global Jobs 2026: Focus on International Employment

According to the Chief Minister, there is significant demand for skilled human resources in more than 28 countries. The Maharashtra government is therefore working towards creating pathways for young people to access employment opportunities in international markets.

The government has also highlighted the importance of continuous upskilling as technology and workforce requirements change. The focus is on combining education, training and employment to improve the employability of young people.

The state had earlier announced its Global Workforce Mobility Policy 2026, under which officials were directed to develop country-specific skill requirements, update training curricula and strengthen mechanisms for overseas employment. The policy also includes language training, certification, documentation support and pre-departure orientation for candidates seeking jobs abroad. 

Maharashtra Job Fair 2026: Over 25,000 Vacancies

The ongoing employment drive has registered participation from more than 1,500 employers and over 1 lakh job aspirants across 12 districts in the Konkan and Nashik divisions. Employers have reported requirements for more than 25,000 vacancies.

The candidate-employer matching process is being facilitated through educational institutions, government ITIs, district administrations, universities, the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and industry associations. 

The initiative is not limited to ITI students. The Skill Development Department said that employment fairs are also being organised for candidates from different educational and professional backgrounds.

Free Pre-Employment Training for Youth

The Maharashtra government has also focused on preparing candidates before they enter the job market. According to Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, seven days of free pre-employment training has been provided to around 61,000 young men and women.

Maharashtra to Provide Foreign Language and Skill Training

The government has said that it will provide foreign language and skill training to young people seeking employment opportunities abroad.

The state's international workforce mobility framework aims to align training with the requirements of overseas employers. It also focuses on helping candidates with documentation and preparation for working in foreign countries.
