MCI approves 150 additional MBBS seats for Adesh Medical College, Ambala

Ambala: Medical Council of India i.e. MCI has approved 150 additional MBBS seats for Adesh Medical College based in Mohri village in Ambala district. This news was announced by the management of Adesh Medical College in Press Conference held at the premises of the college. Established and run by Adesh Welfare Society, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Punjab, Adesh Medical College is one of the reputed names in the field of medical education in the state. The college is based in Shahbad tehsil in Kurukshetra and operates under the aegis of Adesh Welfare Society.

With the addition in the number of MBBS seats on offer, the medical college has also been asked to develop the necessary infrastructure to provide adequate facilities for the training of medical aspirants at the institute. In line with this, the college has also been permitted to admit additional medical students and house them at the main campus located at the National Highway (NH) 1, in Mohri village for the academic session 2019-20.

Commenting upon the development, Adesh Welfare Society Chairman Dr Harinder Singh Gil said that Adesh Medical College is serving the unique purpose of catering to the need of quality higher education in the field of medical science. In line addition to this, dental sciences, nursing, pharmaceutical, paramedical, physiotherapy, engineering, management as well as proving health care services at an affordable cost. The press meeting was also attended by senior staff from Adesh Medical College including College Principal Dr Bachchan Lal Bharadwaj.

The permission to add 150 additional MBBS seats at Adesh Medical College was granted by the newly constituted Board of Governors in suppression of the Medical Council of India through its letter no. MCI-34 (41)(R-30)/2019-Med./108886 dated 3rd May 2019.

In the press conference, the management of Adesh Medical College informed that the permission to increase the number of MBBS seats has been granted after a thorough physical inspection and evaluation of all available infrastructure including teaching faculty, resident doctors and the college staff. All the facilities available at the Adesh Medical College were found to be adequate and in line with the guidelines prescribed by the MCI as part of its instructions for quality medical education.
