UGC Scholarships 2021: As per the updates, the University Grants Commission (UGC) will be closing the registration procedure for various scholarships schemes. The last date to register for the scholarship is today that is 30th November 2021. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria can only apply for the UGC scholarship 2021. They need to apply online through the National Scholarship Portal following which the institutions will verify the applications and supporting documents. Candidates who want to avail fresh and renewal scholarship schemes can apply online through the official site of the National Scholarship Portal at scholarships.gov.in.

Regular and full-time students can apply for these four schemes for the academic year 2021-22. The UGC Scholarship scheme includes - Indira Gandhi PG Scholarship for Single Girl Child, PG Scholarship for University Rank Holder candidate, Ishan Uday Special Scheme for North Eastern Region, and PG Scholarship for Professional Courses for SC/ST candidates.

How To Apply for UGC Scholarships 2021?

As the University Grants Commission will close the registration process for UGC Scholarship 2021 on 30th November 2021. Candidates who have not applied for the scholarship schemes can follow these simple steps given below to apply -

  • Step 1: Go to the official site of the National Scholarship Portal - scholarships.gov.in.
  • Step 2: Click on the registration link available on the home page.
  • Step 3: A new page will open where candidates will have to enter the login details or register themselves.
  • Step 4: Enter the details and scholarship scheme candidates want to apply for.
  • Step 5: Click on submit and the registration will be completed.
  • Step 6: Now, download the confirmation page and keep a hard copy of the same for further need.

As per the official notice released by the University Grant Commission, the last date for verification of applications by institutions of students including resubmission of defective applications for regular and full-time students is till 15th December 2021. The scholarship will be paid via online direct benefit transfer (DBT) mode to the bank accounts of students. In case of discrepancies found in the bank details, the scholarship will be cancelled.

The scholarship will be renewed for the next year of study on receipt of an annual progress report to be granted by the administrative head of the University/ Institution/ College.(E.g. Registrar of a University/ Director of the Institution/ Principal of the College or any other officer designated by them). The awardees of previous years will continue to follow the UGC pattern of assistance through the designated bank branches of Canara Bank.
