The examination papers consist of one paper which comprises of 180 objective type questions from physics, chemistry, and biology and biology includes botany and zoology. From 2010, there have been tremendous changes in the pattern of examination. The examination was replaced by national eligibility cum entrance test. As far as the scoring of these examinations are concerned, each item or question carries 4 marks and for each incorrect answer one mark is deducted from the total score. The medium of instruction for these examinations are in English or Hindi and this makes it extremely difficult for the students who have regional languages such as Tamil, Telgu, Marathi and Gujarati are more prominent.
