World’s largest and most valuable tech company, Apple Inc is finally entering Indian education landscape to recruit engineering graduates for the first time in India. The news has come as a big milestone for the institute and promises a bright future for the students of International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H). The campus placement process will commence from the month of December. Other reputed tech giants such as Microsoft, Philips and Google will also participating in the placement season.
As per the sources, 350 students from various streams such as BTech, BE, MTech and MSc (research) have already registered for the placement drive to be conducted by the institute for Apple Inc. For those students who are yet confused about their placement, Apple Inc has made it clear that they will be hiring the professionals for their Hyderabad or Bengaluru facilities.
On having received such overwhelming response of the tech giants in IIIT-Hyderabad, T V Devi Prasad, head of placements said that "We are elated that Apple has decided to come for our campus placements this year. We are not sure of the kind of profiles that the company will be offering. However, it will provide an opportunity to the graduating students to showcase their skills before representatives of the firm at IIIT-H.” When asked about the job profiles on which the students are getting placed from this domain, he commented that “The requirement for hardware engineers is high this year with many companies looking forward to hiring students with knowledge in application-specific integrated circuit and design verification. There is also high demand for students who have knowledge into 2D-3D graphic in mobile communication.”
In the current year, an upsurge has been witnessed in the demand for the expert in Artificial Intelligence, and hardware platforms, besides machine learning. As per a report by AICET, there are over 10,000 technical education institutions in the country. And when trusted brands such as Apple, Google, IBM and other venture in India to hire the talent, this lay emphasis on the quality of comprehensive educational programmes and activities undertaken by these institute to hone the professionals to fulfil industry demands.
The institute was established in 1998, and is a research university that is dedicated to the core areas of Information Technology, such as Computer Science, Electronics and Communications, and their applications in other areas.
