Directorate General, Boarder Security Force, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India invited applications for recruitment to 386 posts ( 82: Assistant Sub Inspector -Stenographer and 304: Head Constable -Ministerial) with the force on Contractual basis. Age Limit: (as on Last Date for receipt of Application i.e. 30 days from the publication of advertisement.)
Minimum: 18 years
Maximum: 25 years
[Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates and by 5 years for SC/ ST, Government Servants.]
Educational Qualification: (10+2) / Intermediate or equivalent from a recognized Board / University OR Matriculation with 3 year Diploma in Secretarial Practice/ Modern Office Practice/ Commercial Practice from a recognized Board of Technical Education.
Candidate should have knowledge of Typing / Short hand.
Typing / Short hand:
1. For Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer): Minimum speed for shorthand – 70 WPM in English / Hindi. On Computer Transcribe of Dictation in English / Hindi in 60 minutes / 75 Minutes.
2. For Head Constable (Ministerial): Typing speed of 30 WPM in English / 25 WPM in Hindi on Computers.

Visual Standards: 6/6 right eye and 6/12 left eye OR 6/9 both eyes without optical devices.
Note: Candidate should be medically fir. He /she should not have Knock knee / flat foot /squint / colour blindness or any such defect.
Application Fee: An examination fee of Rs.50 has to be paid through a crossed Bank demand draft DD / postal order (IPO) issued/ drawn in favour of authority to whom application is to be addressed, payable at SBI/ Post Office.
(SC / ST / BSF candidates / Women candidates are exempted from payment of fees)
Pay Scale:
1. For Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer): PB-I Rs.5200 – 20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2800
2. For Head Constable (Ministerial): PB-I Rs.5200 – 20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400
Selection Process:
Selection will be done on the basis of performance in written examination (Stage I) , followed by Physical Measurement Test (PST), Short Hand Test / Typing test (only for ASI-Steno / HC-Mini), checking of documents and medical examination (Stage-II -- All inclusive).
Each stage would be qualifying in nature, and candidates clearing the first stage would be allowed to move to the next stage. Disqualified / unsuccessful candidates would be sent back.
There would be sufficient gap between the two stages of selection.
Eligible candidates selected for written test would be sent their call letters – having Registration number / Roll number -- for appearing in the examination by post
How to Apply:
Interested eligible candidates can send their applications in the prescribed format along with the copies of all the relevant documents / certificates and examination fee DD / IPO to the office of the concerned authority so as to reach the office by the last date.
On the envelope containing the application, candidates should super-scribe “Application for the Post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Stenographer) / Head Constable (Ministerial) in Boarder Security Force-2012”.
Candidates willing to apply for both the posts should fill separate application forms for both the posts.
