With the official announcement of CAT 2017 notification, the MBA Entrance Exam season 2017 has been officially kicked-off. This year, IIM Lucknow which is the organizing institute for CAT 2017 has announced some major changes in the CAT Exam and one of the biggest one was the changes in the CAT 2017 test cities.

Overall No of Test Centres increased

The official list of CAT Test Centres has been increased to 140 from the 138 where it stood last year. IIM Lucknow has followed the general tradition of expanding the number of test cities where CAT 2017 MBA entrance test takes place. In 2016, the CAT exam was conducted in 138 cities whereas in 2015 the number of CAT test cities stood at 136.

The intent behind the gradual expansion of CAT Exam test cities is aimed at making India’s biggest B-school entrance test more accessible to the MBA aspirants from tier 2 and smaller towns. The increase in the number of CAT 2017 test cities will reduce the commute time required by MBA Aspirants to reach the test centres while making the MBA admission test more appealing to aspirants from smaller towns.
