CBSE Class 12 Board Exams: Salient Features

It would not be an overstatement to proclaim that the future and career of students are very closely related to their performances in the CBSE Class 12 examination as it would decide the further course of action when applying for an undergraduate course.

The outcome of this exam is a very big defining factor since the marks and grades procured are a very stark reflection of the academic proficiency, cognitive power, and problem solving skills of an individual.

The results of this exam are widely accepted and given prominence at many leading educational institutes in India and around the world.

Admission:

According to the CBSE Guidelines; direct admission to CBSE Class 12 is not acceptable.

The candidate needs to provide a proof of his/her Regular Course of study for Class 11 and also the Passing Certificate provided by the

School affiliated to CBSE Board or any other equivalent Board/s.

In case of a transfer from other Board, a Transfer Certificate should also be provided.

The admission process starts directly after the results for Class 11 get declared, which is usually from the month of April to June, varying from region to region.

Datesheet/Time Table:

CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet is usually disclosed by the first week of January; as per the previous records. Any subsequent changes to this could be attributed to the respective Government arrangements.

Examination Dates:

CBSE Class 12 Exams commence by the first week of March and conclude by the third week of April as seen through the previous records. Again, any changes to this schedule could be attributed to Government arrangements.

Declaration of Results:

The results are declared by the middle of May and are generally declared in parts or from region to region.

Compartmental Examination:

CBSE conducts the Class 12 Compartmental Examination for those students who could not score the passing marks in the Main Examination held in March/April.

The examination generally begins in the middle of July and lasts for a week. The results for the same are often declared by the first week of August.
