CBSE has made a choice to launch a guidebook of best practices in its schools to serve as a model for perking up overall quality. CBSE has asked schools to share their strategies and plans in order to achieve excellence in areas such as sports, academics or adding uniqueness to the infrastructure of the school.
Sadhana Parashar, academic director, CBSE wrote to CBSE schools that this drive is an endeavor to amplify teamwork. "In an effort to construct a culture of learning through sharing and teamwork, the board is adopting a scheme to recognize & share existing best practices in education. Best practices embrace approaches, strategies, programmes and activities in schools that have proved to be helpful. These practices should not only be excellent in procedures, but also produce excellent outcomes."
CBSE evaluated existing literature to categorize 21 domains for unsurpassed practices in which CBSE schools can carve up their experiences & elaborate the kind of expertise they have attained. On CBSE’s website 2 forms have been uploaded for schools to fill in. These forms ask for relevant data from CBSE schools on the basis of which CBSE shall prefer the best institutions. Sadhana Parashar also stated, "Schools are asked to recognize any one of the listed areas in which it has done some commendable work or practice. Subsequently, they should fill the particulars in Performa 1 & Performa 2. CBSE shall scrutinize the entries & categorize praiseworthy practices. CBSE shall further act as a team with schools to collect substantiation & document the preferred best practices to help generate a monograph series on Best Practices."
