In order to clear the National Defence Academy written exam one has to follow the proper strategy. As we all know the first phase of National Defence academy (NDA) examination comprises of written paper which is divided into different sections i.e Mathematics , English and General Knowledge. NDA guide books will be your best friend while preparing for this examination as candidates will come to know the basics and clarity of the concepts which is essential to clear the first hurdle. Preparing short and handy notes for the formulae and vocabulary or current affairs will be helpful. The next and important task is utilization of the time in the effective manner in order to get the best outcome. But to sustain this effort for long time motivation is important which will help you to build your knowledge each day. Try not to waste time on those questions or topics in which you don t have much knowledge as it will be pure wastage of time instead practicing those topics in which you’re good and making it as your best topics will also make your accurate while solving the questions in examination hall too. Now if it comes to your English or general knowledge watching TV or current news is must. If you want to score well then attempting and scoring in these section is equally important. NCERT or guides books will not master you in current affairs so for that reading current magazines or watching good news channels will be a good help. Most of the students lack in English section as some does not get the chance to do schooling from convent or English based schools so extensive reading is necessary to make a firm hold on this section. The best way is to read the English books or novels, news papers etc in order to polish your communication skills as well as to build up your vocabulary.
The last thing which will give final touch to your preparation is ‘Practice’. Practicing of sample paper always gives an extra edge to the students. This extra edge comes from the confidence and clarity of concepts through practicing more.

Know the NDA Syllabus:
The syllabus of the exam is strictly based on 12th std. paper.
Paper I- Mathematics Section includes:
•Matrices and Determinants
•Analytical Geometry of two and three dimensions
•Integral Calculus and Differential equations
•Statistics and Probability
Paper II: General Ability Test Includes:
Part ‘A’ - English (Maximum Marks 200). The question paper in English will be designed to test the candidate’s understanding of English and workman like use of words. The syllabus covers various aspects like : Grammar and usage, vocabulary, comprehension and cohesion in extended text to test the candidate’s proficiency in English.
Part ‘B’ – General Knowledge.
