CSIR UGC Notification for National Eligibility Test December 2011

Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India, a premier national R&D organisation, is among the world's largest publicly funded R&D organisation. Human Resource Development Group has been contributing significantly towards producing an inquiring society and fast growing knowledge economy. It invites application from eligible candidates for the National Eligibility Test (NET).

• Opening date for online application: 16 August 2011
• Closing date for online application: 9 September 2011
• Date of Written Test: 18 December 2011
• Last date for sending hard copy of online application: 9 September 2011
• Last date for sending hard copy of online application (for candidates from far flung areas): 16 September 2011

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: MSc or Equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks for General & OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually Handicapped candidates and PhD degree holders who had passed Master's degree prior to 19 September 1991.

Age Limit (as on 1 July 2011)

• LS- NET- Minimum 19 years; no upper age limit
• JRF + NET- Minimum 19 years; Maximum 28 years

Application Fee:  Application fee for General category is Rs 400, fee for OBC candidates is Rs 200, and fee for SC/ ST/ Physically Handicapped/ Visually Handicapped candidate is Rs 100.

The crossed Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "Indian Bank, West Patel Nagar, New Delhi"

Selection Procedure: The recruitment will be made on the basis of merit in Written Test which will be held in the subjects mentioned below

• Life Sciences
• Mathematical Sciences
• Physical Sciences
