Delhi Police Notified Recruitment of 566 Constables (Exe) & (Dog Handler) on Temporary Basis

    Delhi Police invited applications from male candidates only for filling up 566 posts of Constable (Executive) - Male and Constable (Dog Handler) - Male in pay scale of Rs.5200-20200 on Temporary basis. Interested candidates can send their applications till 28 February 2013.

    Application Fee: Application fee of Rs.100 has to be paid through Demand / Bank Draft / Banker's cheque drawn in favour of DCP / Recruitment Cell, New Police Lines, Delhi (payable at Delhi).

    SC / ST and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.

    Selection Procedure: Selection would be done through a multi-stage process that will include Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests, Written Test and Medical Tests.

    Delhi Police reserves the rights to cancel any centre and ask the candidates of that centre to appear from another centre. It also reserves the right to divert candidates of any centre to some other centre to take the PE&MT.

    Written Test: Candidates qualifying the PE & MT will appear for the Written Test, to be held in Delhi. The one and a half hour written test will have 100 objective type questions of one mark each. The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi).

    For Constable (Executive)-Male: The paper will have questions on Reasoning [35 Marks], General Knowledge / Current Affairs [50 Marks] and Numerical Ability [15 Marks].

    For Constable (Dog Handler)-Male: The paper will have questions on General Knowledge & Current Affairs [50 Marks] and about dogs their breeds, handling and care (50 Marks).

    Medical Standard for Both the Posts: Minimum distant vision should be 6/12 of two eyes (without glasses) and candidate should not be colour blind, must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein, loss / deformity of fingers & chest and joints, Halux valgus, halux rigidus, squint in eyes, bow legs & other deformity including loss of any part of body. No relaxation is allowed to any category of candidates on this count.

    Bonus Marks For Post of Constable (Exe.) – Male:

    Candidate whose height is 178 cms will be given 1(one) bonus mark.

    Candidates possessing NCC 'C' certificate will be given 1(one) bonus mark (Not meant for Ex-servicemen).

    How to Apply: Candidates should send their application along with fee Demand / Bank Draft / Banker's cheque and copies of required documents through ordinary post to “Post Box No.8020, Delhi-110033”. On the envelope, candidates should write ‘Application for the post of ____ (name of the post) in Delhi Police-2013.’

    Candidates can either download the application from Delhi Police websites www.delhipolicerecruitment.nic.in / www.delhipolice.nic.in or use photocopy of the application format available in the advertisement or get the application typed in the required format.

    Candidates can also fill the application online, available in the “Recruitment” section of the Delhi Police website www.delhipolicerecruitment.nic.in, and submit it.

    After submitting the form, candidates’ should take its print out and send it along with fee Demand / Bank Draft / Banker's cheque and copies of required documents through ordinary post to “Post Box No.8020, Delhi-110033”. On the envelope, candidates should write ‘Application for the post of ____ (name of the post) in Delhi Police-2013.’

    On successful submission of the online Application Form, a system generated Registration No. will appear. Candidates should retain (note it or take a print out of the page) this Registration No. for future use.

    Candidates can check the status of their application by login to “My Account” using their Registration No. and other personal information. Information facilitated in "My Account" include:

    Admit Card for PE & MT will be available here for download.

    Any correspondence related to the recruitment process like date of examination such as PE & MT, Written Test and their results and Call Letters will be facilitated in applicant's "My Account".

    In case of any query, clarification regarding filling up of application forms, applicants may dial Helpline No. 011-2741¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬2715, of Recruitment Cell, New Police Lines, Delhi or visit any of the 3 Information Centres created by Delhi Police to answers the queries of the applicant regarding filling up of the application form. The Information centres are:

    (i) PTS / Wazirabad, Delhi;        (ii) PTC / Jharoda Kalan, New Delhi;        (iii) PTS / Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.


    • Candidates applying for the post of Constable (Executive) should have a valid driving license for LMV (Motor cycle and car) while those applying for the post of Constable (Dog Handler) should be a dog lover by nature, have a keen interest in working with dogs, have adequate knowledge about the care and handling of dogs including knowledge of vaccinations and common diseases of the dogs, different diet requirements etc, should not hesitate in freely inter-acting with dogs and should not fear dogs.
    • Medium of instruction in Police Training School is Hindi.
    • All the candidates will be sent Admit card for PE&MT by post and Admission Card for the written test will be issued to the successful candidates immediately after the PE&MT at the ground itself.
    • The Admit/Admission card will also be available on Delhi Police  Website. Such candidates who do not receive their PE&MT Admit Card by post can download the same from “My account” which will be valid.
    • Central Para Military Forces Personnel are not eligible to apply under Ex-Servicemen category.
    • Any change in the schedule already announced would be displayed on the notice board of the DCP / Recruitment, New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, Delhi and on “Notice Board” available on the website www.delhipolicerecruitment.nic.in.
    • Candidate should mention his Roll No./Registration No. on the application while making any correspondence with the DCP / Recruitment.  It should be addressed to: “DCP/Recruitment Cell, New Police Lines, Kingsway Camp, Delhi-110009”.
    • Candidates are advised to keep with themselves photocopies of application form, admit card and admission card (at the time of written examination) for ready reference.
    • No TA /DA will be paid for appearing in PE&MT/Written Test.
