In order to attract more of overseas students into its campus, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) is on the move to follow the hassle free process of University of Pune (UoP) for the admission of foreign students.
Like UoP, the university would offer a single window documents clearance system to foreign students seeking admissions in the University for the next academic year, said the university's vice-chancellor, Vijay Pandharipande
Till now, these students have had to get clearances from the police, foreign regional officer and the external affairs ministry. But the single window system would make the entire process easier for them, said the VC.
Further, the system would also make visa extension process easier for foreign students.
Detailed information about the documents needed, procedures followed and the scholarships available will be uploaded by the university soon. The students would have to register themselves on the university website, submit their admission forms and upload the required documents, which would be screened.
After that the university would itself get in touch with the students. The foreign students need not visit the university for they will be informed about the confirmation or rejection of their applications online by the university.
