Jun 7, 2014 14:10 IST

State education department has formulated an equivalence formula to give break to the students of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education whose numbers in leading colleges are deteriorating due to elevated passing percentage in CBSE schools.

"Our equivalence formula depicts that calculating the percentile of initial 2000 merit holders of RBSE and CBSE so as to generate a new merit list," said the Education minister, Kalicharan Saraf.

The education minister stated he has called initial 2000 students merit list of class XII from CBSE regional office in the city of Ajmer to link with the RBSE merit list. He added that guidelines have already been subjected in this respect & it won’t influence the admission process even by a day.

Elucidating the need of the move, Kalicharan Saraf, said, "It has been riveted that our state board students secure less marks than the CBSE schools for a reason that former have a very stringent marking as compared to the later. It ends up getting unfairness to our students who loose on seats in leading colleges for higher studies."
