Himachal Pradesh University was established on 22 July 1970 and is wholly financed by the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. It invites application from eligible candidates for admission to MBBS & BDS Courses in in Govt. Medical/ Dental Colleges including Private un-aided Dental Colleges (State/ Management Quota Seats) for the academic session 2012-13 through Himachal Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test 2012.

Eligibility Criteria for Himachal Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Entrance Test 2012

Educational Qualification: Passed Intermediate/ 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects which shall include a practical test with 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC) provided that the candidate has qualified the subject of English in the above examination OR BSc Degree with 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC) of a University established by law in India with any three subjects out of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physiology, Physics, Human Anatomy and Bio-Chemistry; provided that such a candidate must have passed the Pre-Medical or an equivalent examination of Board/ University established by law in India.

Age Limit (as on 31 December 2012): Minimum 17 years; Maximum 25 years

Application Fee: Application fee (by cash) for General/ OBC category candidates is Rs 1600, SC/ ST category candidates is Rs 850 and US Dollars 60 or equivalent in Rupees for NRIs.

• At University Counter: The prescribed application form and detailed information etc., the prospectus can be obtained at the University Exam Enquiry-cum-Sale Counter, Library Building (Basement), Summer Hill, Shimla-5 during working days on cash payment.
• By Post: The requests for supply of the prospectus by post can only be addressed to the Assistant Registrar (Entrance Tests) HP University, Summer Hill, Shimla-171005 accompanied by crossed IPOs/Bank Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, H.P. University, Shimla.
